ive just bought a rx7 s1 its got a 12a bridgeport in it with flows and just straight flowing exhaust and a oval mufler on the back its got no resonaters, its loud as $&#$% but im goint to re do the exhust so whats the legal limit for loudnes? do you need cert for exhaust loudnes to prove to the police that its legal or what?

I got find on this about a month ago. Its not allowed to be louder then what the factory system was/ is. I think its a little unfair as its totally up to the cops.

Pretty much, although its at the cops discretion whether to pull you up and ticket you, most of them don't seem to care too much...

i think you can get them from forty one - check sponsor products, click link. $490 i think. Something like a butterfly after your cat with a in cabin controller thingy that allows you to quieten it down or make it louder. correct me if ive got the wrong idea

I agree with purple_beasty here. afaik anything that can adjust,control or modify the exhaust flow from inside the cabin is illegal. But in saying that most wof people dont know what one looks like so you may be ok. Don't quote me on that.

Im having trouble getting a wof with my 3inch exhaust.

My advice: Got get a warrent where young people work, or people that have race cars (rally cars etc)

An exhaust system must not be constructed or modified in a way that allows a person to interfere readily with its operation or reduce its effectiveness.

That means all the bolt in silencers that come with exhausts are illegal too.

yeh, im getting my warrant with my exhaust, the guy said if youve got a middle muffler thats sweet ill pass you no matter how loud
