Have 3 sets of Kraftwerk (Smal(?), 3/8" and 1/2") and they are great! They have lasted for ever with no probs. Dads had them for at least 10 years and the only problem (Not really) is that the plastic inside the case is starting to crack.

Also have a set of Repco tube sockets which are good, strong and haven't had any problems yet.

I've had a Powerbuilt set I bought cheaply about 4 years ago, it's had a hiding and has never given any grief... even the universal has withstood some punishment on the end of a powerbar.

As for ring spanners, I've owned a Fuller set for some time, and it has also managed to last countless rusted up nuts and bolts. Managed to obtain a complete set of ancient Sidchrome ring and open enders for nothing a while back, have a few Stahlwille box wrenches..... Assorted Stanley screwdrivers, a few Britool odds and ends, as long as it's in reasonable nick I'll hang onto it. A heap of fairly specialist electrical tools as well as crimpers and meters and junk.

IMO a lot of tools are busted due to improper use (ie. destroying a socket because it's not sitting square on a bolt) so I just make sure I use any cheaper tools with due care.

My all time favourite hand tool though, has to be a wire stripper I picked up at staff price from Jaycar some time ago... best $18 I ever spent, works amazingly, you can even strip up to 8awg power cable with this thing and it doesn't flinch!

I've abused them and had no problems, apart from the screwdrivers, I cant find a decent set of screwdrivers which are strong enough to handle my punishment

Ha try some wiha one's dude, i got a set and the only one i have broken is the terminal one, mind you i use that onaverage about once every 2 minutes and not generally just for doing up terminal screws either - thats the only one i've ever broken in my set - they cost a bit but it's the old story.
Recomend fuller, have a 1/2" set gong from 10mm to 32, never missed a beat and the lifetime warrenty is good to. Extra piece of mind when you've got that extra 3 fet of pipe on the breaker bar and your standing on the end of it :)
Sidchrome stuff is ok for ring and open ended spanners, haven't managed to break any but have managed to loose a good portion of the set  oh and i picked up a kiny tony 1/4" set that does up to 12mm, feels pretty flimsy but i suppose it is only a 1/4" drive and not going to be used for anything i can get my 1/2" set onto :)
