Iv been looking at buying a track/ faster road car what do you guys think of this.

I was thinking of doing a SR20DET into a primera but would really like to stick with a toyota. Does anyone know the history of this car, who built it etc?

Had not seen that one b4 actually.

TC05 turbo is pretty oldschool tho!

Wonder what he wants for it...

Im sure an asian chap owned it when I saw it at the SI Nationals about 3 years ago.

But yeah TC05 is an old turbo, would be laggy as! Cant see it being that quick considering its running fairly low boost and its not even maxxing out the stock 20V injectors

I have an easy solution.

Buy my primera (Its a 2L 4WD manual!), and go ahead with your original idea. It handles better than my VR4

A mate of mine has one that is mint, there are a few around and I've not heard of any particular problems - it seems pretty easy because basically all you are doing is using gti-r gear in a different shell. There are a few minor things that the gtir's have problems with like gearboxes but overall i think they're wicked...

Back on topic a 20v with 157,000ks, a turbo and no internal work seems like too much risk to me

Just a matter of interest what are you asking for it? How many k's it done?, Ive been keeping an eye on the Silver Ae92 GTZ Turbo, and Dans 101 on trade me and there doesnt seem to bugger all interest in them. I think people under estimate how quick they are as only being 1600cc?. I know now Im going to loose money on my Trueno as it owes me 6.5k less the Turbo conversion Im going to do. It would of been cheaper and easier buying one already done

well been keeping an eye on it as well to see what people will pay.

Cars done 160k, had rebuild at 135 and goes well. Car has been turbo for 4 years now and since around 100k

Would be a good option for someone who didnt have the $$ or funds to do it all from scratch themselves.
