Oh yeah and another awesome video to watch is the Audi Quattro at Pikes Peak...... basicly the last Quattro Sport S1 with a 900hp engine driven by Stig (I think)...... I think it was around 91-92

If you want to know everything about every rally car there was up until about 1995 buy the book called Rally Cars (funnily enough) by Reinhard Klein

It will set u back a pretty penny (mine cost AU$89 + shipping when published)

published in 2000 in germany (600 pages)
ISBN 3-8290-4625-1

the above book... yes its GOOD

videos/dvds to get:
rally supercars
too fast to race
still to fast to race
and the mentioned audi ones.

the 205 t16 was 4wd :P

and yeah modern rally cars with modern diffs and tyres eat them
hell the currant group n wrxs are faster than group a evo 5s....

however group b was a lot more spectacular than moden wrc cars....

i love them :D

The 205 T16 has got to be one of my favourite cars of all time.

Tiny car.

Big HP.

four wheel drive.

Engine where it should be.

Fantastic book... won't tell you what I paid for it brand new but it's less than half you quoted. Can't get it now, Konemann (publishers) have goen bust. You'll find them selling on Amazon for around $400 - $500 USD. No shit.

But yeah, I have Too Fast To Race, I have a number of old videos with Rally NZ 1984/85/86 footage (a good 2.5 hrs of each) I have some other stuff, 1985 1000 Lakes, some Safari Group B.... all this from when motorsport coverage was still comprehensive and great watching. Dougal Stevenson even narrates the 84 Rally of NZ (Blomquist won by the way, from Markku Alen in an 037). Also, track down the famous Peugeot 405T16 "Climb Dance" video, it's Ari Vatanen driving a 405T16 up Pikes Peak, simply amazing, it actually won an award at some film festival.

Fav Group B car of all time for me, would be the Lancia 037 Rallye. Mmmm, supercharged Fiat twincam goodness, in the most beautiful Group B shell.

Was the first Group B rally car too.... contrary to popular belief, the Quattro first started rallying as a Group 4 car, it wasn't until the S1 (SWB) Quattro that it was a Group B car.

Also took me a while to track down but Duke Video http://www.dukevideo.com/Cars/VHS/Rallying/World.aspx seem to be the only dudes with the rights to actually sell this WRC footage (Dam you david richards...) Still fairly cheep and takes around 3 weeks to ship.
