B1NZ's post is one of the few in this thread that smacks of reality.
But did it occur to anyone that if you're exceeding the limit - even if you're 'within' or 'close to' the tolerance line - you should just admit liability?
Coz - funnily enough - you're guilty ???
It'd be different if the Cop was trying to pin you on something you weren't doing. Fines start at $30 for less than 10km/h over the limit - I have an idea that 10-19km over the limit is in the ballpark of $80 - you should regard these figures as 'the cost of exceeding the limit' and pay up.
Sure, its the cops word against yours and the onus is (should be?) on them to prove your offense. But if you know you were speeding, why not just simply have the balls to take it on the chin and learn from it?
Are you talking about my instance ?
Yes 5Km over the limit is speeding ... fine then give me a ticket for $30 and I will be away.
But I've been slapped with a ticket for 70Km, something I was not doing and with demerit points ..... do you think I should just accept it cause I was doing 5Km over the limit ?
