I can understand where you are comming from, and I dont think anyone actually cares that much, its was just something funny that was pointed out, like that small man growing out of your back.

Ahahahhah! Gold, mate. :)

So.. after all of these replies to this thread, surely the seller must have recieved an email directing him here. My question is, it sure as $&#$% isn't worth $25k.. how much is it worth?

Maybe the guy selling his car was just interested to see what kind of response he got for putting his car on for 25k.. you never know someone might be silly enough to pay that much. I do think it is a bit over-priced and good luck to him selling it for that much. My dad sold his standard NZ New 86 for a little more than half of what this guy wants. To some people they are collectables and to others they are pieces of crap. I think everyone has got the message now, no need to be nasty!

Pride ourselves on it buddy. Toyspeed; where you can Guarantee the piss will be taken out of you!
If you put a car like that up for sale for that sort of money you should expect some nay-sayers. It's a fact of life... get over it and get on with your attempt to sell your car.

Good luck with your sale. <-- Serious bit there.

This is similar to the girl on the North Shore who put her grandmothers KE35 up for sale for $20K. She got $7k (from memory) in the end but she wanted to know what the market was. I guess she learnt that her $20K was a little optimistic. Perhaps this guy will learn the same or some keen punter from Japan might buy it and import it back to Japan...

for similar money you could have ... and I think they are a whole lot more fun. OH and how do you insure a car that is that old for 25k. Do you think that agreed value policies would cover it?

Anyway, happy viewing. :)

no one in japan would import it, as they have examples in mint condition with under 100k's selling for 1M yen on yahoo auctions.

It is possible however that he is testing the market, although he seems like he should know whats up, with the kit etc
