A Series 4 RX7 turbo, was always called a twin scroll turbo, it has one larger and 1 smaller entry into the exhuast housing, this gives it two different A/R's. Twin entry/Divided entry ehxuast housings have been around for years, but i have NEVER heard them called twin scroll. My understanding on this was because both Entry's have the EXACT same A/R. I just did a bit of hunting around the net, and it would seem mainly, mitsi and subaru started this "twin scroll = twin entry" thing. A series 5 rx7 turbo, has a divided exhuast housing, but mazda never called it a twin scroll turbo, they only refered to the series 4 as having that. Guys with RX7's have been using divided housing on their turbo's for year. and have never called them twin scroll either, probably because of the series 4 vs series 5 turbo naming by mazda as mentioned above.
perhaps no one else ever used the Series 4 rx7 type 'twin scroll' so the 'twin scroll' term has just become commonly used for a divided exhuast housing........
The way i have it set up is not wrong, just more lag and as i have stated i dont care about lag . Because during the week my wife drives the car and she doesnt come home and say ,gee that turbo, is laggy. I want it for the soul purpose when i take to the strip or track that it only ever sees high revs.but we arent talking about the way the mazda ones are designed, we are talking about 99gtt hooking up his turbo wrong and could get alot better perforamce by doing it right.
twin entry twin scroll just terms that u can easily mix up. As Vvega wrote from the garrets website is all that u need for 99gtt's setup.
