Manfeild Track Day *Ideas*

Postby eritate » Tue Sep 26, 2006 2:51 pm

Hey guys,

Im not too sure if members other than chelles or moderators can form a trackday

But i noticed that Manfeild was open to hire on the 16th of Decemeber (category C)

What is category C?

Its the 3km track

Ill just copy chelles thingee just so you guys know what would happen if it does

Date: TBA 18th December probably

Cost: TBA

Safety: Helmets and cotton overalls a must. All cars must have current WOF and Rego unless you have a MSNZ certified race car. There will be basic safety checks on the day however maintenance is up to you as the owner. I’d like to suggest that if you haven’t done so in a while to change your brake fluid and check your brake pads for plenty of life as this track WILL test your braking system.

Drivers: You may run dual drivers at this event and you must have at least a restricted drivers licence to enter

Passengers: There will be passengers allowed with the correct safety gear. (Cotton overalls and helmets)

Rain? If it’s raining the day will go ahead. What is the point of hiding when it rains? We drive to work, school, friends etc on rainy days so why not on the track where it’s safer. It will be a great experience for you all to learn better car control in the wet.

Oh and there will be no drifting… no exceptions

What are you guys thinking???

I know there is a taupo track day on the 22nov. But it wouldnt hurt to have one for the people who missed out or need one closer to home :)

-Mike

ps: Please do not flame me for trying

Not a flame ... but you might want to see if Manfeild will in fact hire the track out to you, before you post stuff on the interwebs, and check for things like deposit they will require.

Beat me too it Leon.

I've sent you a PM eritate so have a look as there are a few things to consider before you go jumping on in.
Oh do you think it might be a little to close to Christmas to get the good numbers?

No point going through all the hassle organising a track day etc if there arent definate numbers etc :)

So would be intresting to see who is keen as taupo is just a few weeks earlier

Well.
Apart from the possibility of a non-event.
I'd like to hit the track again, providing I don't wreck the car at Taupo...

Confirm your booking first that way people are more likely to commit to the event :)

Ahh k

Well I just got in touch with manfield and sorted out some dates etc

Monday 4th,Thursday 14th, Monday 18th, Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd (All December)

These are all up for grabs for a trackday. I shall let the majority of you guys pick the date because im not the only one going to be paying.

It is going to be run on the same basis as any other Track Day that chelles has run.

No racing, No offical Timing, No drifting, No silly buggers.

There will be prizes at the end for worst driver etc

So How many people are keen?

book it and they will come

try and do it in the reverse and it wont happen.

i suspect you will also have to invite other clubs as i doubt youll get enough from TS to make it viable

Not thursdays I reckon. That means up to three days off for those who work (one to get there, one for track day one home) and live a solid drive away (apparently it's around 6 hours drive from auckland - I've never really timed a straight drive down).

So my preference goes..

Depending on price I may be interested. I have a club event on the 10th so I'd be more keen for something later in the month to help soften the blow of entry fees and race gas.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all your suggestions. With christmas just around the corner from the unconfirmed track day it would be wise to change the date to early next year. I have yet to confirm this date but will keep everyone informed.

All suggestions are welcome.
