Ok ok...

You take time off work not using paid leave - your gone for 2 days you earn 100 a day.... so you loose 200

+ the amount to get it up say 500

So for 2 days it cost you 700..

You stay at work and you get paid normally so it only costs you 500 to get it up on the train...

You take your paid leave and it costs you 500 to get it up.....

Why would you take your paid leave to save yourself $200 ???? When you might actually need it?

Eg: Someone dies in the family? You have a wedding to go to ? Family holiday?

You cant exactly get a stand in actor to go to the funeral, wedding or holiday but you can get someone to transport your car ;)

I thought about this when i wanted to transport that ae86 I had... Was cheaper to get it brought down than me go get as i would loose out

If I were you, and If it’s an older car I would recommend going to pick it up so you can check the condition of the vehicle before purchasing it, the car I brought was not as tidy as the pictures suggested......

.........So what kind of car is it mate? Will it make it all the way up?

Pictures for general consensus?

Had a car shipped from Chch to Wgtn a couple of months back by John Silcock (rally driver) 0274851255. Cost a little over $400. Might be worth a call.

Ok, just had look at Flight Centre website, say if you were to leave next monday, a one way flight to Chch would be $120.
Ferry back on Bluebridge the following day is $169. Add say $150ish for overnight accommodation, then another $150 in fuel. You're looking at just under $600 to bring it back by yourself.

Just an option ;)

+ your wages for everyday you arent at work. Its heaps cheaper to just get it transported.

Annual leave FTW

Still loosing money :P

Do more overtime the week before you have a few days off and get paid more for your leave days. I actually get paid more for a week off than i do working a 40 hour week :)

PS For the guy who wanted the wheels shipped i got some up to palmy from chch for $80 but had to pick them up from the trasport co. You might be able to do the same try someone like main freight etc for it.

As for the car i recomend getting someone you know if you know comeone down there to look after it for a few days while you get prices from everyone who is reputable. Then decide who you want to use but for a reasonable service expect to pay at least $500
Or you could drive it as has been suggested but will still probbaly cost you more than to get it shipped. Thinking of that are there any shiping companies that would bring it up for you, might seem like a strange idea but might be worh looking into
