This is from my 2J.
Unfortunately I can't take credit for the damage. It was done by Gadget. I'm the one repairing it though. :P

Three clutches. One genuine Toyota that had its time, the POS TRD clutch and a cheapie clutch plate that lasted all of two months. Managed to sell the TRD clutch

One gearbox with only 3rd, 4th and reverse after killing the selector forks. Sold that too

One ceramic ct20b, the compressor fins were gouged back, more than likely from overspeeding at 19-20psi indicated, would have been more like 23psi with the sw20 intercooler pressure drop. Sold this as well

The 3sgte amazingly never broke.

Stock B/T 20v + constant high (>6krpm on taupo track) = ventilated block

Down the bore
Image

Looking through the hole, towards the corresponding point on the other side of the block, note marks where the snapped rod has tried to make a passage through
Image

The hole itself, and some nicely gouged crank
Image

Where #4 rod used to be
Image

Whats left of #4 piston, and the top half of the rod
Image

The other half of the rod is nowhere to be found... guess thats what went flying through the radiator, and is now somewhere on the track

Gotta give it up to the first poster though, thats pretty impressive.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! 8O 8O

:P

Bah, it was my fault...the accelerator pump diaphragm must have been torn, as it always used to splutter when you give it a bootful (17 year old with a rotary, you do the maths)...the constant leaning out would have finished it good.

Off the top of my head I've killed:

- T50 (ground a gear)
- W55 (dunno but it happened at Manfeild)
- Bluetop 4age (bearings)
- SC12 supercharger
- Garrett BB T28 (hopefully can be fixed :x )
- 4agze (hopefully just the rings, I say killed cos it happened very quickly and on another Manfeild day)
- Std 4age clutch (s/c had to much torque)
- T25G (just seals)

Hmmm that doesn't seem like that much considering how often I am fixing my cars

Well, having been racing for 12 ish years, the list is surprisingly short ...

1 x Mini spun the flywheel on the crank
1 x Mini ripped the centre completely out of the RF wheel, which lead to grinding a balljoint away (Manfeild)
2 x BNT supplied CV's on the AE92 blew to bits when brand new (autocross)
1 x 4AGE big port started knocking (Pies has now, so we find out what it is once he pulls it down) at Manfeild.

Maybe this Saturday the odds will catch up with me, and I'll break every single moving part on the car?

1 x SC12 supercharger, bearings collapsed from years of abuse

Lol I hear ya, I honestly don't think I could remember them all.. before I really learnt how to fix things myself, I'm sure I kept my local garage in business! Best effort though.. I had a BFMR sedan with a blown motor, had it garaged for 6 months (I actually forgot that I had it!), threw a new motor in, had it on the road for 4 days, did a gentle launch.. *pop* goes the centre diff, in the reconditioned gearbox!

I've lost count of clutches I've toasted/broken.. I was taught to flatshift when driving hard, so I guess it has to be expected!
