depends on how many pulsed you plan to use in your scavanging
and strx7
automoive companys spend a lot of money making production cars make good hp and are reliable
unless you own a caldena :d

as for mainfold material
steam tube makes a good compramise
and stainless is shit because it loves to move when its hot :D
though you can fix that with some careful planning and prereleaving

if you wanna talk engineering im happy to
but realise i do it for a living.... and have been there and done it

as for ex physics......the only real differance is the heat IMO

and gmacrae
have you ever seen a proper split pulse manifold ??
one with 2 wastegates ??
cause as soon as you join the to streams.....its a waste of time

90% of teh manis you can buy have a single wastegate and is potentially why you dont see advantage

rotarys ?? and piston engines ???
there both air pumps just ones a 2 stroke

do some thery and have a think about it :D

hmmm interesting, that makes sense

My split pulse manifold, (barrys old one) only uses the one wastegate, I know its divided where the two join with a plate but probley wouldnt be completely sealed, wonder if its worth the effort running twin gates???

I thought the plate was there to just keep the flow on path.

I see now why barry uses twin gates, thought it was just a bling feature..

correct, same with inlet manifold runners

Not strictly true. It totally depends on the number of reflections used in the helmholtz calculations. A 4 reflection primary may be shorter than a 3 reflection primary, but the 3 reflection will be tuned for higher RPM. IE longer, but tuned for higher RPM.
The answer is Helmholtz!
