How much do you think this is worth???

Postby quicklvn » Mon Dec 11, 2006 1:10 pm

Hey guys

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... key=163362

Just looking at the AE85 on this auction and i'm pretty keen on it but having never purchased or owned a car like this I have no idea how much it's worth.

He said 2k but I think that's too high considering it's not going.

Any feedback would be great. 8)

I would say that a pretty good buy for that price. Considering some ae85's go for $4k or so with out any thing done to them.

Update:

I've been negotiating and he said I can have it for $1,500 (which I think is pretty fair).

What do you guys reckon? Good project?

When was the last ae85 sold for $4K? The only one close to that would be 3500 for the minter that chickenman knew of but there's very few in that condition still.

It's pre '91 so it's a lot cheaper and easier. $165 according to VINZ.

Thats not bad then. Dont you have to pay the $375 for them to strip the car down to check every thing?

That sounds like compliance which from what they said does not apply for a car manufactured pre-'91, if the car has been registered here previously of course. AFAIK $165 is all it costs to have the car re-registered + WOF'd. Standard registration fee is on top of this.

Mates one sold for 5k... with just a 4age in it.

This one has a 4age, even if its not going, being a hatch too, id say 1.5 is a sweet deal.

Righto, the answer is YES, it does need to be "Complied" but because its pre '91 the criterior are different, the interior doesnt have to be stripped so its basically a very very hard WOF that it goes through, alos the compliance fee is normally lowered so its not full price
