Postby Caveman » Tue Feb 27, 2007 5:15 pm

Hi

Im wanting to replace the rear window with m10 lexan. Will there be any problems with not having the vin number on the window? It will have authority card for wof.

Cheers

EDIT: One last thing does anyone know where you get those things to blank off vacum pipes, they are like small condom thingys, I had one on my levin from factory but need a new for my new car.

Nope...what do you think happens when you replace your window normally?
In my experience it doesnt matter

Cool thanks, Ive had a problem with my car where the windscreen vin didnt match the chassis vin (one number out, wtf) so I was just making sure 8)

Does anyone know about the vacum blanks? They slide over the fitting to seal it. Ive crimped and soldered the metal ones, still have two plastic ones though... For now I have them linked together using a vacum hose but it looks a little tacky

You will be all fine, however if you head in to your local compliance outfit they can sand blast another one for you just to save any future grief and the more vins you have on your car the easier it is to prove its yours if it gets flogged lol, just gotta have rego papers and some ID etc to prove its yours etc
