WTF is Jasma anyways?

Postby Dragger_Dan » Mon Mar 05, 2007 6:45 pm

So, the Jasma name seems to come up a lot. A lot of people think it is a brand of exhaust products. Quite a few seem to think it is the Japanese standards organisation for exhaust products or something. Unfortunately extensive (all 5 minutes of) research on Google hasn't helped one bit. Except for this:

So does anybody have any proof of what Jasma means in relation to exhausts?

1989: Japanese Automotive Sports Muffler Association (JASMA) founded, initial member of JASMA.

Released JASMA certified exhaust systems that meet strict standards for passing car inspections.

In other words, if someone tries to be a smartass and sell an exhaust on trademe as a 'Jasma' exhaust, you're bidding on an OEM item. Great :?

Don't be fooled
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

No you are bidding on an exhaust that complies to the Jasma standard.

THANK YOU! I've been looking for ages to try and see what was up with this and the tanabe and 5zigen websites proved useful. Still strange that Jasma doesn't have its own website.
