ya gotta wonder what your money buys you tho, the prices on these rwd 4age things are quite crazy . 8-10k buys a lot of car now.

not that im a hater, i quite like them, and there are some very nice examples around. i guess its the same as people who spend 15-20k on an old rotary with shiny paint and a backyard engine just coz its goes brap brap brap.

I think its the fact that they were desirable as an old "read cheap" rwd with a decent engine and decent handling, unfortunatly demand has blown up the price. Then again I would say that this car in question would have to owe richie at least 7 k, if not in actual money then definatly in time.

Not quite, the early RX's are reasonably rare now, and always have been a classic. The AE8x phenomenon was really blown up by Initial D and drifting. Still cool cars nonetheless, but more of a cult classic than the early RX's.

i think that was directed at me? lol yea na i do no what ya mean and ive done shit all mods compared to richards, i just found some guy with too much money that fell in love with it but i didnt really want to sell yet, even though 8 was incerdibly tempting

Is it just an almost stock ae85? ie: no 4age etc?

yea i no, no one was more suprised than myself to get offered that much and i do agree how the prices for these things are crazy (not that i mind though ), ive had the 4age put in and and t50 and a few suspension mods etc but nothing major , and yea i nearly said yes to him but i love it too much and i couldnt be bothered going to the hassel of finding another one thats as tidy as mine

o.k so i have just had the engine reconditioned, nice and fresh with blacktop rods

i'm thinking i'll throw this on trade me at $7000 no reserve

anyone on toyspeed want to buy it off me before i do that?

if you put it on trademe i reckon it will fetch close to 9 or 10 max.

Be a shame to see this car go.
