I got distracted and was a little slow to get my car fixed and I let the registration lapse to just over 1 year over due so when I went to get it a wof and rego, they no longer have a record of the plate number.
Does anyone know how much VTSA will charge to check it?

Certification from memory costs 350$.
They might or might not have increased that amount however.
If you are talking about the Peugeot it better be in tip top condition if you need it to pass certification.

i was thinking u just need to get it re-vin'd kinda like a w.o.f check but harder. thats what i had to go thru to get my ae85 levin back on the road after it had be lapsed for over 2 years.
the guy just said it will be easy because the car has been registered in NZ before so it wont take much to get it back on the road.
some thing like
$350 for re-vin and a bit more for ACC levy or something cant remember exactly what it was for.

Hmmm, the rego plate should still be live on our system, if you wanna PM me with it I can have a wee lookie in to it?
It will just need re-compliance which as mentioned before is just a super hard wof (unless the vehicle is more than 20 years old)
And Im pretty sure we only charge $260 for a re-com, so you might wanna shop around on that one
It wont be "re-vinned" as it will have either a factory 17 digit vin number, or a nz 17 digit one that was assigned at first inspection and compliance as an import, so it will have the same for the rest of its life if that makes sense
