where to find the cars year of production plate?

this was meant to be a easy find but i have looked at every plate under to bonnet of my mates car and cant find a date anywhere. its for a mate's AE86 he is trying to ship overseas. does any one know what im going on about? here is a pic of where i was thinking it would be...but no


please help me its been in the process but stuck on this little detail.

just take the year off the rego sticker - e.g. 1990 FXGT?

yea we need something that is from factory or from Toyota them self that states the year of the car. i already tried giving them the low volume cert plate that says the date, but the government department didnt except it.

i dont think ae86's have this sort of plate, i have a few ae86/85 and never seen such a plate.

when they import a secondhand car how do they get the production date?

only toyotas that have a date on them is aussie assembled camrys
