also there needs to be specific training on how to enter and exit a motorway before you can get your license USE THE WHOLE MERGING LANE DAMIT!! i hate it in rush hour when people will get to the bit where the onramp and motorway meet then stop and wait for a gap.

As a side point, Mike- - you're right on the money. This is an example of something that is not taught, and should be!! Also how to correctly navigate a roundabout.

(GG Avalon Roundabout + Central Lower Hutt Roundabouts, and SH58/SH2 Intersection!)

Oh and as for compulsary insurance, as long as theres a watchdog making sure that the Insurance Companies are playing ball, compulsary seems smart to me.

(Hmm, I see the makings of a good Fair Go episode here... )

because every one mush be insured
all the insurance company put the price up
you have to have insurance so you have to pay

That would mean there would more than likely be a cartel between insurance companies. Not sure what the legal stance of a cartel is in UK but it is illegal for companies to form cartels in NZ.

Roundabouts only succeed through proper design, and a lot of them seem to be badly thought out in terms of traffic flows.

not as badly though out as some traffic light intersectins that replace them...

I think people in general are shit at anything but tunnel vision sometimes, daily people dont give way on roundabouts on my way to work.

but sorry, offtopic
