A hard top for an s2000 is 6500 painted in the colour of your choice.
I'd hit one, no doubt.

Ouch.. What's your insurance bill?? I pay just over $500 a year for my FD covering all mods.. But then you are young!!

Economy and reliability will be about the same with a turbo slapped on i imagine.. And the balance would get put out i imagine?

But in saying that, if you want it go for it.. Would be keen to come have a look if you do get one :D :D I drove one a while back and enjoyed it!

yeah, i wouldn't turbo one if i did buy one, but i was just putting that in for comparisons sake.

insurance is currently

car insured for $20,000
insured with NAC
$1800 a year premium/excess
$3200 theft excess

like I said im 21 which would have a huge impact on the premium, but I cant imagine it changing the theft excess.

not sure if i want a soft-top though!
just cant think of anything else to sell the FD for.
350zs have shitty interior quality
RX8...mmm...nah
wrxs dont do it for me
evos..i probably wouldnt sell the FD for one

the s2000 appeals because they are very competitive with the FDs on tracks, so I believe they are quite similar in performance. Plus being a newer car is always nice (except airbags, i hate airbag wheels! the s2k wheel isnt so bad though). I can imagine an S2000 holding its value better than a FD too, sadly.

my fd is mostly stock, s7 rb bathurst, white, hks super dragger catback, HKS hypermax D coilovers, 17" stern wheels, mazdaspeed strutbraces, stereo/alarm/turbotimer momo wheel and razo shift knob.

Ouch!!! that insurance is nasty!!!

You can get hard-tops for them..

350zs Ewww!
RX8s are gutless (possibly a turbo one would be good)
wrxs and evos are too common

I saw 4 GT-Ts on my way to work today and the only subarus i saw were foresters and legacys (i was shocked too).

probably less around your area, but wellington is crawling with GT-Ts.
