Car transport companies

Postby AE86less » Mon Jan 14, 2008 6:15 pm

I have an opportunity to buy a celica down in Dannevirke verry cheap.

The catch is that he needs the car moved away from the property by tomorow or his landlord is gonna get it towed, I asked if the street was ok for a couple of days but apparantly it's no go (not worrying about legalities here, i just don't want it towed).

The other issue is that it's dereg and has a blockage somewhere in the fuel lines. (As an aside: how could I remedy that?)

Who would you recommend as a transport company? I'm gonna start calling tomorow but as the issue is kinda urgent I though i'd ask.

^^sorry about the shitty post; i'm getting a migrane and now i'm stressed...

As far as I know, all companies require the car to be mobile under its own power.

if its only $100, is it really worth spending $500ish getting it transported?

some towing companies will do it, but it costs extra as they usually bring a tow truck as they have to winch on,

try auto movements in wellington

How about just getting a tow company to tow it and store it till you can get down? Ive heard prices of only $80 to just get a vehicle towed from one place to another.

heres what you do..... you get the person to give you their land lords number and sort it out from there, i'm sure the landlord would be happy with a couple boxes of piss in the fridge and the car sitting there for an extra week

To get the KE moved from Auckland to Taranaki I used Auto movements.

KE was not running due to snapped CAM belt, the rolled it on in Auckland & rolled it off in Taranaki at my mates workshop, dont recall charge off the top of my head.

Companies will do roll on / roll off, but they will charge you a little extra for this

I've asked the guy for his landlord's number.

I'll see what his view on the situation is like. If i can just leave it there then I can cruise down with a trailer.

Cheers very much for the ideas guys, mucho appreciato.
