AE94 Corolla hatch or sedan

Is the 4WD system in these cars any good? And do they come in manual? I assume they are pretty rear and hard to find?

I saw a 4WD sedan today and thought it would make a good gravel rally car. But maybe a hatch would be lighter.

They are AE95, i had an AE95 sprinter sedan, they use an E55F5 trans in manual, which apparently isn't that strong, but being e series i would have though it to be the same mountings as a gt four box, i could be wrong on that one though. Def a fun gravel bashing car, had many lols in Naesby in mine.

I'm trying to decide on something to buy for hillclimbs. I'd prefer not FWD. I thought that the gearbox wouldn't be that strong. I have a bad habit with changing gears too fast lol. But don't crunch gears. I'm surprised I haven't destroyed the gearbox in my EE90 yet. I thought it was AE94 because of the AE104 4WDs.

What engines do they have? 4A-FE? 4A-F?

Mine had a 4A-F, porno red interior, AC, and emmission control BS from nalm. Weird how it was quite well spec'd but wasnt efi.

Or instead of buying something I could spend $ on getting the starlet finished. That would be alot more fun.
