redline gearbox oil

i had a search and couldnt find what i am after.

i want to use redline g/b oil as i heard nothing but good things

what is the best weight oil to use in my viscous lsd box?
where in auckland does the best prices?

Give Titties a PM. He's just been to BNT and got some Redline oil.
He'll give you a good run down on what each one does and then decide which is the best for you.

i run lightweight shockproof in my 4agze box, it's mint.

you might want to check the redline website. Gives you info etc.
As you have a viscous lsd you want something compatable to get the full potential of it.

Apparently the shockproof stuff is not good for the synchros, so mihgt pay to see what you want it for. Titties got some NS stuff (???).
I'll get him to chuck up some onfo when i'm at work tomorrow.

got at least 15,000kms on it now had new 2nd 3rd 4th synchros and thats it.

the 75W90 redline is the bizo for gearboxes the shockproof one is usually used in diffs (like mine) its a bluey green i think.

The 75W90 is in a yellow bottle
The Shockproof in a blue bottle.

It says on the bottles what the particular oil is suitable for, I used MT90 in my synchro box and 75-90NS in my dog box. No issues to date.

The only reason for using shock proof is if you give your box alot of abuse.
Shock proof also helps if your box has notchy/crunchy syncros.

Ever since I changed to redline shock proof heavy duty (red) its saved my box. And i've been through about 4 boxes
My box was 2nd hand from a 1988 GTZ which looked liked had never been opened. I didnt chagne the syncros in it. Just stuck in the shock proof and never had a problem since.
Thats with 5 track days, about a million drags, flat shifting and need i mention 500hp through the drive train .

When I was running 200fwkw, castrol oils seemed good enough.

Shockproof heavy is pinky red and comes in a white bottle. Its the dogs danglers and was recommended to run in my Hewland / Fortin dog box. Its bloody thick and takes quite some time to get into and out of the box again. I dont know if its rated for Viscous LSD's however I'm pretty sure that they run the Redline Shockproof heavy in the Hewland LSD boxes.
