Engine/Parts importers in Auckland.

Postby Crampy » Sun Jun 29, 2008 11:07 pm

I'm looking at possibly buying a Blacktop 20V with full loom and everything including gearbox.

Where in Auckland would be the best place to start? Names of good engine importers.
Anyone know what he going rate is for a Blacktop and a C56? I'm only wanting the 5 speed, because I know the 6 speed is poo.

I just picked up a dereg 95 bzg trueno for 1250 from a guy off trademe.
I was prepared to pay 1000 for a complete motor loom and box so to get that and a whole car to part out was pretty sweet I thought

Yeah saw that one damn it. You bet me to it :(
There's a Blacktop with gearbox and loom on trademe for $1250. It's got 101,oookm on it. I was wondering if that was a good price. I figured that with the gearbox included, it was reasonable.

I might have a ring around to see what others have.

Yeah weighing it up. I sort of want to go the N/A way with the FXGT, now that I have the AE101 with all the turbo goodness.
If I do chuck a Blacktop in it, I'll sell all the turbo gear as a full turbo kit and then sell the motor and gearbox seperately. Got plenty of other car bits I should really get rid of, just waiting to see how the Levin turns out.

Providing shipping to Auckland isn't too much, it might be the way to go.

Just sent them an enquiry through the website. I'm hoping they'll be reasonable, as they're quite close to home/Base.

I recommend Tparts as well, pretty close to base, and mention the airforce and they are pretty happy to do a deal, I got my beams set up there, and they are good to deal with.

Sweet, good to know Aaron.
I was wondering where you got your motor from. I figured it was down south though, like in Chch or something.

Might have to pop in there and suss them out.

Just got a quote back from Totally Toyota in New Plymouth, $1550 including freight. That's for a 94000km Blacktop with loom and everything along with the gearbox. It's from a non-superstrut model though, so no LSD. I'm hoping to get an LSD if possible.

Does that sound like a good deal? Shipping must be hurting me a bit though, might see what local guys can do.

that'd be about right. just a bare motor without loom or box (for a replacement) is going for around $1100-1200 +gst

Turbo B/T! ftw

Thats my plan anyway, but I'm going n/a 1st with s/top rods just to see how it copes, but I really want a turbo, problem may be getting the power to the ground though
