Looking at getting one of these for a daily driver/ ski car. Anyone had any experience? Its a 1996 4wd 1.8L SR18 model. Any common problems or comments anyone has? Thanks.

Pray to Allah that it's had regular oil changes.

Word. Same issues as the Primeras and bluebirds, if it hasn't been regularly serviced, its' going to cost you. Other than that, solid cars. :)

It's called Wingroad. Do you need any more disincentive?! :?

One of the guys at work has one of the 4WD ones, steams along quite happily. Will inquire as to what issues he's had.

dads got one with a GA15 fwd. no problems with the car itself afaik
Those SR's are alright if they are the newer version that has bigger oil galleries in the top. Maybe someone else can confirm but the rocker covers are significantly/visually obviously bigger on the good version.

mazda also sell the wingroad under the familia badge, using nissan running gear. saw the odd one going around, and they pop up on the repco computers too when you enter the nissan chassis number too

A friend of mine made decent pocket money out of buying crusty old wrecked bluebirds etc, and swapping the cams etc onto newer bluebirds/primeras that ran out of oil up top...

Not sure if they're all compatible, but he seemed to make it work :D
