yea and i'll get a personalised plate with "wanker" on it. with pertol prices a rotary isn't really what im after. i was going to buy one at the start of the year but after the deal went sour due to not being told about the vechiles past and finding out other ways it had previously been in a crash and absloutly no info on the engine as it was apparently a remaned engine from japan but no recipets of anything, it sort of put me off. also my mate will think i'm copying him as he is almost finished putting a rotor in a bmw E30.
i'm pretty convinced to go with the 1JZ, they are cheaper to buy than the 2jz and its not like i'm after serious horsies. just more. seems dropping a 1jz in isnt all that hard. some custom mounts, slice the drive shaft and shorten it and weld a toyota yoke on the end. (might hold?) or use a toyota one and get an adaptor to fit onto the bmw diff. and upgrade to a larger bmw diff and cv's from an e36 325.
i'll be keeping an eye out for a front cut, has to be rear sump. and the R154 with remote shifter (to get the shifter closer to stock position). to be on the safe side. depending on budget or i'll take the risk with the W58.
i also am not a fan of RB's. it would be my cheapest option as i have an rb30 already but its almost like buying a nice house and filling it with junk instead of leather couchers.

the 1jz seems to be a pretty popular swap in the UK, there are a couple of guys putting them into e36s on the UK drift forum

Good choice 1JZ are really good strong reliable motor I reckon if you still keep the factory turbo's you'll still see between 350-400 HP which really is heaps for the street.I'm not convinced with those W series boxes I don't reckon they stand up to the torque that well so if you can get a R 154 that will be the box to have they still cost a little bit but it will be money well spent I think.

Errr riiiiggghhhtttttttttt :roll: I never realised you had an RB30 already, RB30 > 1JZ. But 1JZ are still pretty cool. If you could get a hold of an RB25 gearbox you'd also have a nicer to use (and stronger) gearbox to play with.
