Mitsi L200

Postby ee904age » Tue Sep 30, 2008 6:41 pm

I know its not a Toyota, but similar Hilux's are a bit out of by price range. Im seriously looking at a 94 L200 2.5l Diesel. Its done 270000km but has been serviced every 5000km for at least the last 150000. Drives good and goes surprisingly well. Other than the usual cambelt, rust, smoke etc is there anything else I should look out for on it??

Thanks in advance,
Shay.

Be a bit wary of the 2.5 Diesel - the 4D56 is to Mitsubishi what the 2L-TE is to Toyota, but just like the 2L-TE as long as it's kept in absolute tip top shape it should keep running fine.

Mitsis of that age aren't that prone to rust, unless it's been subjected to extreme weather.

The cab space in an L200 will be larger (specifically a deeper floor) than a comparible Hilux (well.. at least the earlier late 80s models).

Probably wont be too much to maintain either, the consumables and parts should be no more expensive than Hilux items.
