Brendon Hart? His family are really into their karting. His dad is an x world champion and his brother Josh has been overseas racing.

If you want to do track racing, then karts will be cheaper... if you just want to do some motorsport, clubsport will be cheaper.

Don't forget with a kart you need something to move it round on/in (trailer/ute/van) and will need at least one support crew to help move it round.
With clubsport you can get going with a $200 car and drive it to events.
