Not a toyota but, can you identify this motor and gearbox

Yes that is the engine. It was fitted to Ambulance vehicles for a number of years. We were having them rebuilt every 18-22,000km. They are not very strong engines.

Is that the 6.2's or 6.5's?

I have seen a few conversions done on the net into land rovers and landcruisers, the guys have nothing but praise (in the instances that the job looks well done) except one guy kept snapping drive shafts when he hammered it

6.5L, they used to crack the blocks and do all sorts of bad things. Although, I would say they had a hard life in the Ambo's as even though they all had block/oil warming systems fitted they did not plug them in. So each time you call 111 they would have been nailed from stone cold which may not have done them any good!

I have heard the same praise from the 4WD guys about them - they love them.

The 6.5's had the black valve covers, and this one is mor elikely than not and older engine.
