you can get longer boss kits for ae86s on trademe, as a normal one leaves the wheel really close to the indicator stalk
not sure what car we are talking about but most toyota stuff is the same
they are more expensive than regular bosses though

whatever the case a longer bosskit will bring the wheel closer to you
i've got a 20mm spacer on my 85 but its not the greatest
was cheaper than long bosskit though, hah!
