Where to buy a 4age short block

Postby Dr.NoIdea » Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:15 am

Hi, im going to rebuild my 16v smallport 4age, does anyone know where to buy a new or rebuilt short block?

How much will it cost for a engine shop to rebuild the short block?

Thanks

I know a few years ago you could still buy new blocks from Toyota, maybe still can. There's someone on Trademe selling a rebuilt shortblock, link here

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 737789.htm

Or if you can't access trademe:

Block fully rebuilt, had cylinder hone, new frost plugs, has factory high compression coated pistons, new rings and bearings all tolerances checked with micrometers plastgauge etc. All new seals. arp con rod bolts.

Block is stronger 7 rib, with side oil drain.

Con rods lighter silver top ones, rods and pistons weights checked.

Sump, pick up etc included.

This is un-used, sample pic as engine is shrink wrapped for storage.

Reserve is around $500, once it has reached that buy now is automatically removed and will be sold to highest bidder.

$500 is insanely cheap

have seen unopened smallports sell for more

i paid $500 cash at mates rates for the machine work on my smallport, and that doesnt include the cost of buying the engine in the first place
