Its basically a big K motor. Nothing much really goes wrong but they're getting pretty old. Generally gutless and coated in oil. But go forever

my old work had a townace with a 3y in it, 18 years 300,000k and its still going good, the carbie seemed to strangle it badly but it survived many years of 9000rpm, 10,000k+ oil changes and heavy trailer loads. I would say the y series are pretty solid motors.

Yeah turns out it has a 4Y in it which is a 2.2L?

I thought it went bloody well for a 1.8L hahaha

The 4Y isn't even cross flow LOL

I have noticed the temp gauge doesn't work - it goes to half as soon as you turn the key and doesn't move from there unless on the motorway it seems to drop down to about 1/3

Any thoughts?
