If the fine is from a speed camera they send out a statutory declaration form on the back of the letter they send you.

Fill this out with all details you have, take it into police station to ensure you have everything they need and they will get the fine transferred into his name.

Its actually quite a simple process as long as you don't forget about it and take in papers the day after final payment date

but he has changed the ownership, he just didn't do it soon enough and occurred fines while it wasn't in his name.

So I guess I just go to his house and yell at him? heh, or ya know, talk to his parents, considering his just a kid.

How can he have changed ownership if the car's still in his name?

If it's still in his name - then he still owns in - hence being responsible for the fines etc

So really - it's on loan at the moment - or, stolen.

The car ISN'T in my name, but was at the time of the fine, which was a parking fine in November, for $200. he changed the ownership in like December, I sold the car in october-ish.

I know I didn't get the fine myself as I sold it with a reg and wof.

did you do a sale agreements etc that had purchuse price/ date on it? If so that may be enough to prove that the car was not in your ownership at the time of the offenses.
