You could build a computer with a ITX, Micro ATX motherboard or nano-micro ATX and throw that in ya glove box. i recommend ATX form factor as it is most popular and supported. With a power inverter wired into your ignition or any other source of 12V power/ignition the computer will only turn on with the reds on. but you will not have the computer turn on automatically that is imposable. If your link is connected to your PC through USB that will wake your computer up once the Link fires up if windows is configured correctly. you can have external devices bring the PC out of hibernation or sleep. and bobs your uncle. you just need a screen and input devices attached to your PC for control or optionally use a touch screen.

You can get an ATX power supply that can be programmed (and has sane default mode of operation) what to do when the ignition is switched on and off. It is definitely possible and I ran it successfully in the past.
