Removing pressed in "fittings" from the block...

Postby Adoom » Sat May 21, 2011 6:59 pm

My CA18 has the steel radiator outlet pipe "pressed" into the block.
Can I remove it so it is easier to paint or get plated??? How do I reattach it? Is there some kind of "glue" or resin or something??

Same deal with the crank case breather. It's just a steel box with a hose fitting on it. I want to run a hose from it to a breather bottle.... But the pipe fitting is HUUUUGE. Like 1" ID pipe. I can't find any oil resistant pipe that size, so I want to modify the fitting on the box to fit 5/8" hose. It would be easier(and less chance of an oil fire) if I could do it off the engine.
