wheel nuts

Postby EviLClouD » Thu Jul 07, 2011 10:40 am

Hey guys im after some new wheel nuts, what would you recommend? Something like nutsac or dtm? Its just that the current ones i have came with the wheels i bought and it appears the metal material is flaking off around the edges. I havent even had the wheels for a year, so these nuts seem kinda budget. Is it worth paying extra for supposedly better quality?
Thanks

Wheel nuts are definitely something you dont want to go too cheap on.

I bought some of the "Nutsacs" annodised lock nuts a year or so ago and they seem to be fine, but I have only removed the wheels once or twice so far.

Apparantly the material the cheaper ones are made from is alot softer than it should be so after some time, the threads integrity could be compromised.

Im going to buy some genuine Rays/Volk nuts off egay soon given how strong our dollar is against the seppo's

I've got like 80 of those spline nuts... half of them have the chrome coating flaking off and are rusting underneath...

Dunno whether there are different qualities of them but a bit suckie when they cost $90 for a set...

If I had a car I cared about enough, I'd probably look at anodized wheel nuts or something that might be longer lasting, but still able to fit inside teeny tiny japanese holes... I hate having nuts too big for the hole.
