Tinting film

Postby Grrrrrrr! » Fri Dec 23, 2011 10:04 am

Do repco or supercheap or anybody that will be open over the break sell a decent quality tinting film? Might have a go at tinting my windows while the car is in pieces, but don't want a cheap and nasty film.

Whats a good quality tint film worth anyway? <$100/roll?

Just get them to tint it, they are so well priced its not even worth your time doing it your self!!

Think its like $160-200 to do a whole car

Somewhat difficult to do when the car is in a million pieces and they don't have a mobile service.. plus i'm pulling the windows out for respray anyway so can do them on the pool table while they are out.

I've always wondered about this, whether it would be a better quality job to get them donw while the windows are out for projects etc. :? Not feasible for cars being used every day, but for cars in bits...

Some places dont like it, they prefer them in car. I guess so you can't scratch it re-installing it.

This. Plus you get less dust/crap in the tint if the window is standing instead of flat on a table/moving around.

Much easier to do in a car that's not in bits. Take it to Carfolie without putting the door trims on. Much better then :P

Does anyone know if you can get tint film that blocks UV rays without making the glass darker? I need it for a home application, only a smallish amount
