Importing a SIVehicle

Has anyone done this or known someone who has? I'd love to hear if there are any unexpected pitfalls or anything like that.

You too have seen the bargains available out of the UK to eh? 8)

The cars there are dirt cheap.

Ha yeah, their car prices are so much better than ours! Anything Euro is half the price over there than they are here. If only I had more money then the shipping costs would be less of a ratio to car value. GST is a nuisance though!

Even Japanese cars seem cheap over there.

newer than 2005 isn't going to need a permit if it's emissions compliant

Yeah I'm trying to weigh up the options of both, either get an older 2002 via SIVs or if its a pain in the ass then just get something post 2005 to avoid it

Shipping isn't bad either. Roll on roll off shipping to New Zealand runs around $2700.
