The comparision between a 6cyl turbo and 4cyl NA is just downright funny...

there are a couple of tuning places in aussie that will bolt on an exhaust, intake and remap the standard ecu in an XR6T and you have 280-300kw for next to nothing.

At the end of the day turbos will always be easier to get more money from but, and this is just my opinion, tuned NA will always be more rewarding/fun.

anyway to the OP

Set of really expensive toda headers (dont bother with cheap ones the stock will be better)

2.5 inch straight as possible exhaust.

cold air intake

lighter flywheel ( I did this to mine and it made a BIG difference)

link ecu

should have you around 110-115kw atw which in a BZG will be really fun.

If you want more then it would be

forged/silvertop rods

cams

Maybe light port and polish.

Probably takes you to 120Kw atw-ish

After that then its just more and more insane cams and perfecting the flow of air in and out of your engine.

These figures are just best guess though as 4ages tend to vary lots in what they produce

i would also say before you start spending money on the expensive stuff change your air filter, spark plugs and spark leads, and i was reading over in one of the other threads that the fuel filter is a very underrated one.

Also, get rid of the intake baffle in your intake, theres a pipe that comes from under your air filter box that goes into a big white container behind the bumper, pull the pipe and white air box out, its a resonator that quietens down the intake noise, i replaced mine with a 2.5" drain pipe and it made it sound a lot more aggressive, im guessing it gained a pony or two but I wouldnt know without a dyno

edit: why tf am i still posting serious answers 5 pages into this clown thread anyway

Have people got as high as 110+kw with just boltons + tuning on a BT 20v? Honest question, have never heard of that high a result - but don't know of anyone doing that combo either.

I haven't heard of it, but it wouldn't surprise me with a good tune and bolt ons. You'd probably get a few kw just by stopping it from dumping fuel in when you put your foot down. No proof, apart from the clouds I see.

Ah ok, I've always been a bit curious about how they'd go with quality mods and a decent tune.

I got 106kw atw with a silver top with black top cams, factory headers and 2.5 inch exhaust and a G3 link so with a black top head and aftermarket headers I would say 110-115 is doable

Yeah a good tune does wonders for them. Stock tune is actually quite bad as far as power goes.

I only had it dynoed b4 and after the link as when I bought it it had a wolf which no one here could tune

was 92kw atw on the wolf tho. felt very weak up top.

Depends on how dynos read (tend to vary a lot at low power levels) but wouldn't get more than a 5kw increase out of a blacktop with boltons and link (105kw atw good std blaacktop does 100kw atw)

Don't respond well in terms of power readings to mild cams etc but during feel is quite different..wouldn't get more than 110kw from mild cams. 130kw from a blacktop feels like more than 130kw out of a Honda for example....

People stop being unrealistic BTs make shit power nd always Will. stop dreaming of power figures that doesnt mean shit its all about how it drives!

Whatever Pal, it blows turbo falcons out of the water.
I don't trust myself with fast cars..... too tempting. Hence I keep getting slower and slower cars. 2/3 don't even go
