Hey guys,

Brother in law and sister in law have just put a deposit on this subject to a mechanical inspection etc being done next week

Is there anything that should be looked out for on these vehicles? I had a small drive and everything seemed sound to me, is a nice little car actually quite impressed. Just interested in hearing others views on them.

The 1.5s are a bit gutless once you put a bit of gear/people in them and clutches feel a bit strange if you're not used to them. Otherwise not a lot goes wrong

Check drive belt condition and if any wear or noise check tensioner pulley
They are a hydraulic tensioner

Yeah it is an auto anyway haha so probably even more gutless. Generally only the two of them in it plus a bit of dive/surf gear. Was the nicest out of all the ones we looked at. So many with the horrible beige interior.

Seems awfully expensive for a 1500 auto (the least desirable combination) with average km's, and in the least desirable colour (red, which sadly still fades just like they did 20+ years ago with Toyota red).

I couldn't find anything cheaper than that one anywhere in Wellington? They weren't too keen to go private.

Didn't realise the red paint still has issues. Hmm....

it does sadly, I've seen a couple of red ones that shape with fffffarrked paint just like the SW20 MR2's do.
