Best value for money in Aucks car batteries?

Postby snwtoy » Sun Jan 05, 2014 7:08 pm

Hey guys

Need a new battery for the Caldina, around 430cca. This is the recommended size in the Century guide, and I also run a couple of amps in the car so don't want to go below this size (?)

Supercheap has a 420CCA (SCA brand) for $125, most others seem to be $150+ (eg Century $169)

Batteries seem pretty low tech, can I go wrong with the supercheap option?

ive had el-cheapo batteries in my old daily car with no problem and they usually have 24months warranty so keep your receipt and you should be sweet.

12 month warranty on the SCA branded ones by the looks. So perhaps go for the century one they sell for a bit more. Wait for a sale and it won't really cost more. I'd rather have a 3 year warranty. Having said that, i've had new/2nd hand and factory 2nds for batteries over the years. If they are looked after, they all seemed to last as long as each other.

I have one with portal on the top to indicate battery condition in the garage currently that has dropped a cell. Just not the cell the window is in, so it still says good to go. So don't pay more for that waste of time idea

The warehouse has some Exide batteries, picked a 430CCA for $90.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
