I was looking forward to watching that. But it was 5years old or something? Well thats made me definatly getting rid of my locks in my next car and getting keyless entry. They wouldnt have a chance starting my car, but they could rip my car audio gear off. Bastards. Scary to think that 1 car is broken into every 6 minutes 8O :x

I'm just tinkering with RFID, so I have to be withing 10m of my car for it to start, quite cool really. I just have a rangi start button at the moment.

They should legalise security systems on cars like what we used to have in South Africa...

Flame throwers from under the car, tear gas etc etc.

I'm guessing it's the same sort of tool they use on buses to break the glass?

They are designed to break glass easily so yea.... :?:

Ahhh very true, although I was more thinking along the lines of "current legal" methods of security in NZ

Insurance companies would have a field day if you added teargas, flame thrower etc to the list of mods

in theory it should drop your premium, as it is less likely to be stolen... although it may be raised, as it is probably more likely to be vandalised by the guy who can no-longer see due to the tear gas.

I think the tool might be an automatic center punch or one of those phone plug crimping punches, you just push on them and a spring loaded "thing" gives a quick crack down, which would probably break a window very discretely.

I hate watching TV shows with ex car theives in them, they are homos.

That program was on quite a while back.

Basically if you have an alarm it will decrease the risk a lot.
Take off the metal hinge thing behind your lock barel so its disconected, thats a good trick and takes maybe 5 minutes. But then if your central locking fails

Also a funny thing i read about is having one of those instant on smoke machienes in your cars, the ones some shopes especially jewlary shops use to fill the storw with smoke if the alarm is triggered.
