The brand new NZ Performance store was broken into @ 5am New Years Eve. We lost a LOT of big dollar items including half a dozen BRAND NEW Garrett Ballbearing Turbos ranging from GT2871RS to TO4Z - none had tags describing what they are, so people won't know what to sell them as, so be aware if you're offered a "big" mystery turbo.

There were a lot of Rotary related parts including IDAs, IDA manifolds, Scatter blankets, short shifters etc etc (a lot of unique stuff).

Our full range of Turbosmart & GFB BOVs were taken as well as 3 sets of D2 suspension, labelled wrongly on the box, so someones likely to trip up there.

We also lost 2 Power FCs to suit Series 6 & series 7 RX7 & a Microtech LT10, albiet with nothing written on it to say what car its meant for.

3 x Ceramic paddle clutches (With no markings, so once again they'll have a hard time onselling them), a custom 7 1/4" twin plate quartermaster clutch & custom flywheel.

A stack of 38mm, 44mm, 46mm GENUINE Tial Wastegates & also about 5 or 6 50mm Tial BOVs (with no flanges or air fittings!!).

A few 90mm & 105mm Accufab throttle bodies, the list goes on & on... 7 or 8 Innovate LM1s, Air fuel gauges, intercooler kit (piping etc as well)....

Most of it is fairly unique stuff, so if you are offered anything like this, please let me know soon as possible.

To the NZ Performance Crew - from a fellow 'shop' owner I'm sorry to hear this. This is why we do not let people visit our warehouse(s) until we've got retail and commercial security / insurance in place. I don't live on Trademe nor do I buy trading magazines but I'll certainly keep an eye out for you.

Best of luck.

Security was the opposite of laid back - trust me, these guys knew what they were doing. They were in and out within 3 minutes, our security guy was there only 90 seconds later. They had been in the shop before - some things REALLY don't stand out at first glance when you come in, they knew where stuff was.

Insurance - yes, things are fine in that respect, but like having a home break in, its small consolation. Some scum out there is sitting there with a room full of gear someone else worked hard for, and chances are it'll end up being onsold to someone without the balls or concience enough to have a second thought for where it came from.

I'm not criticising your set up - we just don't have that in place to warrant serving direct to the public =]

Once again best of luck in finding out who did this. A bit of vigilanty justice wouldn't go astray..

Can you tell the external differences between a GT3071 and a GT28RS?
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

I was about to make a post saying "sweet, now I know what all this stuff is for, will be much easier to sell now", but then you went and said that. Thanks, now how am I going to be funny?

Um - read what I wrote smartass.

Anything and everything I have named there was written quite clearly on the box, the rest of it I've deliberately said "with nothing written on it" and not said what it is.

PFC's - says on the box what model its for, and they aren't that common an item.

Rest of it - um, how do I say what its for, which they wouldn't have known before?

None of it is particularly secret gear - I'm sure you can work out the difference between a 38mm wastegate and a 50mm BOV, so it doesn't really matter a whole lot if I spell it out.

Like has been mentioned - the turbos have no markings on them to say what model they are, at all. I knew them by sight since I spent all day selling the bloody things, if you saw one sitting on its own you'd be hard pressed to know if it was a gt30/40 or a T51R if you didn't have a pair of verniers and a specs sheet in front of you.

Lesson for the future: Think, THEN speak. I'm sure you'd love it if you got your car pinched then I started getting smart to you about it.
