Toyota Echo: How fast do you think?

Postby adamkerrnz » Wed Apr 26, 2006 7:36 pm

Hello,

Just want to get some wild guesses from you guys..

How fast do you think my echo can do a 1/4 mile?

Its a 2003 Toyota Echo 1.3, 4 door, 69kw and about 800kg.

I wasnt sure if this should go in offtopic or not.

I will eventually do a run on the 1/4 but want to see what people think i can get

I reckon a mid to high 16 should be achievable - you people saying 18's just aren't considering the weight, or lack there of, of the thing. Of course you are also going to flame me saying that he needs more power but hey, 1/4 mile is all about power to weight basicly up to a point. It should get off the line well enough to do a 16 just don't expect a very high trap :)

IMO the 1300 is really underpowered. The 1500 is ok I guess. My mum has owned both, currently owns the 1300. In terms of 1/4 mile, I have no idea.

well yes power to weight is all very well and dandy, but at the end of the day you still need power.
My starter motor puts out more power than that thing

My liftback done a 17.2 when it still had the 4afe with noisy bearings and slipping clutch :D

Not sure how heavy it is but its damn heavier than an Echo. Im guessing low 17`s

16.36 @ 82.3mph/132.9kph (that's if 800kg in total weight)

so it really depends on the driver weight :P
if you weight 100kg, then your new time will be..

17.01 @ 79.1mph/127.27kph
