Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Measured with Apex'i RSM Sept '05:
0-100kph 5.9 sec (2 way avg)
0-400M 14.77 sec (best)
80-120 kph 5.1 sec (2 way avg, 3rd gear)
1100kg kerb weight (weigh bridge)

I have since done a few tune ups but should be about the same.
Last night I discovered my engine is actually an ae92 smallport gze motor 8O :D

Thats pretty average alright. I did a 6.9 in my old 101 with intake and exhaust mods. Nothing special about the tires oh and i did have one of those gizmo launch control gadgets in there as well.

I did a 6.3 in my Skyline GTS-4 with three people in the car. It is pretty stock though (only mod is the exhast tip/muffler) and not sure how accurate the timing was.

8.54 this morning.
i reckon there is still plenty to shave off that time.
was on a slight up hill freshly laid seal (1 week ago) and still with stereo in the car.
might go weigh the car if i have time.

what rpm are people launching their 20vs? and optimum shift point? been shifting at about 7600rpm.

i wonder if the speed cut is working

should go do a 1/4 mile soon as well.

cheers

you wanna find a good road with chip seal :D
even better is the grip strip they use at intersection to assist stopping. i havent seen it anywhere you could take off tho.

you're still kind of pissing into the wind tho , front wheel drives arent known to take off very well.

do you make 100km in 2nd gear? i can clear 110 in 2nd at 8500ish , makes a bit of difference

yeah 7600 is a good point, maybe even 7000 they tail off after 5500ish

ratios are different in your box jeremy, you can hit 100 in 2nd, in some cars, the limiter comes on about then.

the change to 3rd will be losing you some time.
on a 0-100 try going all the way in 2nd. then try shifting as i suggested, which in hindsight maybe not be the best for 0-100 but would be best for drags i think

yeah i seem to remember that some 20valve boxes could clear 100km in 2nd?
i thought it was the 6 speeds that couldnt.

mine is a gze box being stupidly over revved tho so it is kinda different.
