anyone got the hookups on PWR

hey im after a PWR W-A intercooler and iv been quoted 1590+gst for the lot...can anyone get it cheaper or is this as good as it gets?

might help if you gave a bit more info on type of car it's going in, part that you were quoted that price for, intended purpose.

I'm pretty sure that at least one of our sponsors are PWR agents, so maybe you should have a look through the sponsors section, and browse some websites.

From looking at this sort of thing a while ago, I got a decent "800HP" w2a IC from driven performance, that is doing a marvelous job in a Merc that a friend of mine has. It's a bit overkill(by about 500HP), but it's working fine.

its going into a 1973 corolla, as you can imagine theres not really enough room for a front mount behind the grill and i dont want to go cutting anything up to make one fit which is why im thinking of going with one of these, part i was quoted for was the 300hp kit.

HRT has a front mount on his KE20 behind the grill, can get one to fit alright.

you sure he hasnt cut anything because from what iv measured youl be lucky to not cut anything out for an i/c with a thickness of 60mm

you could always put it in front of the radiator, move the radiator back 75mm if there is enough room,
we did that in the ke30

yeah that was the plan until i got a 3 core ali radiator and gilmour pulleys, cant really move anything back now :roll:

There is a bit of orange stuff (following along the front of the I/C only, nothing behind it), and a bit of silver stuff cut in the pictures. The orange section taken out is about half the thickness or less of the I/C and more was taken out of the silver bit than was needed by heaps. Am going to replace it if I ever get around to getting spare bits.

What are you putting in it? Even with the drive belt stuff on the front I've got heaps of room there. I can fit my hand open in between the radiator and I/C, there is about a 90-100mm gap in there, plus there is a fair bit of room from the radiator to the waterpump pulley.

damn thats hidden nicely, slightly more discreet than mine :oops:
youve seen mine since it was setup aye morgan? nothing was cut for mine, except the inside of the wheel arches for the piping. the valance was already cut so i chose an i/c to suit, but if you got a thin one you could probably mount it same as mine without cutting anything/much. mines 76mm thick i think which is the "average" for those trademe i/c's - i have seen 50mm.
the size of mine is overkill for what i got at the moment so you could run something alot smaller...

just running a 4age turbo, heres a old pic of my setup, radiators not mounted yet but gives you an idea of how far i can move it back if any (remember theres a fan on the back of the radiator, another reason i was thinking of going PWR water to air is that it would look mint with everything else in there and car would be a lot more stealth not being able to see any i/c but yeh i have trouble with multi choice decisions :lol:

You can still mount it like mine if you want, nothing behind the I/C is cut so you could sit the intercooler in place as you have everything on the pic above and not have to cut anything except those bits on the front.

As for getting intercooling piping through, the holes are already there for a KE20, problem is I think they are a little bit under 2 inch holes so they need opening up a little bit. You'd never know they'd been done unless you were super fussy on KE20s (or if you did a crap job opening the holes up).

You got heaps of room. And if it doesn't work, put a 5K in it :lol:
