Possibly worse, cause you have to flog them to get them to go any good  1GGTE's lack serious amounts of low end torque, they're pretty much the Toyota equivalent of an RB20DET
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

Fuel economy on a stock standard 1g-gte is pretty good. Not as good as what I get in the GTT caldina - but then again its an older engine with older technology and a heavier car....

well my brother doesint ceair too much about power...

i know my mates r32 skyline with rb20de is stupidly thersty around town but its not too bad on the open road, was trying to find out if these things are similar basically. but if there that bad ill tell him to hurry up and replace the gearbox on his n14 gti pulsar and stop warring about it. not sure y he wants to change cars anyway

to be honest

you don't buy a supra only to be concerned about the mpg

if you're worried about mpg - buy a honda

it you're a supra enthusiast, you REALLY don't care how long it takes to empty the 70L tank - as long as you get to piss off a whole lotta honda and nissan boys while doing it :D

yeah that would be my way of thinking... sadly i cant afford it... one idea is let him buy it, let him blow it up (like he does to everything coz he doesn't understand how to look after things) and get it off him for cheep  8) its not just economy hes after but he still wants to afford to drive it

I used to own a MK3 1g-gte it was a great car but underbraked but fuel mileage wise I used to do alot of trips from Welly to the Mount and I think the best I got out of tank was about 430 odd km and that was with the car fully loaded aswell.

Don't ruin a perfectly good supra just because

Maybe he should be driving honda's or other disposable cars so he can learn about cars and how to treat them

hes not that bad.. all tho he managed to do the big end on his sr18de and now the gearbox is packing up... main problem is he accelerates too fast when cold and doesn't realize what hes doing to the engine no matter how much i tell him to stop.. so i can see him $&#$% the turbo's and passably the big end. but hopeful ill have money by then and can buy it and rebuild it for myself :wink i wouldn't let him get it if he was too bad... but not sure he wants to talk to dad about it but he wont be back in the country until the 1st but if it gets sold by then it doesn't really matter

8L per 100km. Avg.
12L per 100km open road and light throttle.

Bank on 10L per 100 with smart use of throttle. If you work the engine, it'll work your pocket.
