Personally, I think it is pure porn and I love the combination of them going back to old school with the design and the old school blue on white paint. Still my favorite super car after 25 years.

Looks cool, apparently the original had terrible build quality, hopefully that's somewhat improved.

But yeah, Ferrari headlights, Maserati tail lights.

Mate has an early one. Build quality is crap. Surprisingly little room. Big lazy motor so low rev torque is sizeable. Overall acceleration was decent but not supercar. Silvia with 200rwkw would leave it.

I don't think thats the point of the car though.

Yeah I have been thinking about that and.... I have to admit..... it will most likely NOT be a v9 it will more than likely be the v10 or v11 shape as I want to buy as NEW as possible. Either way it will be the 2.0 ltr not emission spec 2.5

Just change your sig to "Saving for a better car"

That's pretty much what 90% of us are doing, without having to add it to our signatures.

Are they honestly that slow? I've driven an SRT10 Dodge Ram and the thing was mental. It felt easily just as quick as my Evo (if not quicker tbh) which is madness in a 2.5ton truck. Admittedly it was pretty new so maybe the later Viper engines were better.

That was based on my ass-o-meter. Turbo's always feel faster, especially in a light car.

Seriously, I think if the Viper and a 200rwkw silvia have traction they are 12 sec cars, mid 12's if good traction and good drivers. The viper will end up leaving the sil after that though.

My point was more that a supercar should be "ZOMG", not "Yeh, not much different to a $5k car with $5k spent in the right places"

Hardly a standard one though.

To quote Wiki on the ACR version...

The American Club Racing (ACR) model was introduced in 1999. This model had suspension and engine enhancements focused on maximizing performance in road racing and autocross environments. Horsepower was, by the use of K&N air filters and smooth intake tubes, bumped to 460 hp (370 kW) in these models, while torque increased to 500 lb·ft (678 N·m). Weight was reduced by over 50 pounds (23 kg) by stripping the interior and removing other non-essential items such as the fog lamps (replacing them with brake ducts). The new stiffer, adjustable suspension removed another 14 pounds (6.4 kg) These models, which also have engine and handling modifications, has an "ACR" badge and 20-spoke BBS wheels.

A new ACR was added to the Viper line-up after the 2008 model year. Its upgrades were more drastic than the original, including street-legal racing tires, two-piece brake rotors, adjustable suspension, and significant aerodynamic revision. No engine modifications were made, so power and torque remain at 600 hp (450 kW) and 560 lb·ft (760 N·m) as in the standard SRT-10. The ACR is street-legal, and is similar to the MOPAR Viper that Dodge displayed at various auto shows. Weight was also decreased by 40 lb (18 kg) by using the "Hardcore Package", without AC, radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, hood pad or tire-inflator. Its aerodynamic upgrades produce about 1200 lbf (4.4 kN) of down-force at 150 mph (240 km/h), or roughly 10 times the downforce the standard Viper SRT-10 can produce at the same speed. The interior was upgraded only by the addition of a beacon-tripped lap timer (Hardcore Edition Only).

The Viper ACR was built alongside the standard SRT-10 at the Conner Avenue plant in Detroit. The aerodynamic components were produced by Plasan Carbon Composites and assembled to the vehicle by Prefix Corporation located in Rochester Hills, Michigan.[30]

On September 14, 2011, on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, a 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR captured the fourth fastest production car lap record with a 7:12.13 elapsed time.

I prefer the last generation. This new one's front doesn't look too good, but the rear resembles a Maserati Gran Turismo and the interior is also nice.

Overall, good - but the front resembles the ugly first gen. Viper, which was fugs.
