I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! Haha. Its been ages since I've chatted with you, and for some reason 109mph stuck out in my memory. Either way, its a very impressive trap speed for mild mods - there are very few Jap cars that will do that with very basic bolt ons.

Avinesh - R33 GTS25t, my highest trap was 106mph if I remember rightly... though it wasn't the cleanest run :(

damn thats a good trap especially with just exhust coz in winter wars at meremere all the gts25t's i saw were hitting around 165-169km/h with front mount intercooler, exhust and boost controller.....

LOL Ouch

Also it requires the driver to make a quick track time. I bet you Al could run a 12sec in his car and i jump in it and run a 13/14 just because im not that experienced etc

Btw Richard that gt4 looks so sick we have a gt4 down here Prymal... Its been worked hard core, ask slighty_looney i believe he is good mates with him

Mike

and i bet i could do mid 12's because im half his size

Yep. That'd make sense, their stock ECUs go into a stupid area of the map with crazy retarded timing when the airflow levels get high to "protect themselves" (or perhaps not look too quick compared to a GTR?) which is why people often underestimate them.

They HAVE to be tuned if they're going to be fed a reasonable amount more air. Ones that have front mount, exhaust, boost controller and have a tuned ECU are capable of deep into the 13s with >105mph trap speeds, with the occasional getting into the 12s. Bear in mind they don't get the kind of launch a MR2 can....

Also (as mentioned above about drags) driver has to have something to do with it - I had a dude with one with front mount etc I had just beaten (both trap speed and ET) come up to me and ask what I'd done to mine and I popped the bonnet, and they looked a little dismayed.

A little, just changing a couple things that hold them back from factory. Hoping to go a little quicker next time I race.

Bit off topic people!

Anyway, I think I'm inclined to agree with RomanV. I think people's comments about the GT4 have steered me more away from it. It sounds rather dull to me. I don't want a big comfy cruiser. Sure, sitting in a nice quiet comfy cabin on a long cruise would be nice, but I'd like something more involving.

I've driven some powerful cars, and I also test drove the twin turbo Legacy. No doubt it's quick, but it just felt too refined. It was so smooth and so comfy I'd probably fall asleep!

At the end of the day big numbers aren't my thing. I don't care if I have 200hp, 300hp, or even 600hp under the hood. Am I really gonna be able to use it on the street? Nah! I race Evo's in my 20V and loose miserably, but it doesn't make me yearn for a faster car. I just do it cause its bloody funny.

I owned a 1991 CRX VTEC. Broke down ALL the time, it was prolly no quicker then a 20V, it had no power steering, and no aircon, but it was so much fun to drive. And at the end of the day, doesn't everyone want a daily driver that is fun everytime they go for a drive? Doesn't everyone want a car that makes them go for random long drives? Every spare hour or so I had, and providing it was dry, I'd always go for a blast!

Sorry for the long post, but I'm trying to get accross what I'm looking for in a car :)

i have owned a gt4 (st185) AND an integra vtec (b18c) - type r little bro.

the gt4 feels like it not meant for going fast
on the other hand the integra does, and it feels like a sports car sitting in it. the celica will give u alot more problems and more costly. u will impress the chicks more with a teg   good day :P

You had a DA6 didn't you?? I wouldn't compare a DA6 with a DC2... even a base DC2 is a class or two above a DA6. MR2s are a pretty good package, though.
