Ive been 200km/h in my Ae101 Corolla Liftback. Private road up north of course.

Standard silvertop but with 4afe gearbox=long ratios. Was shifting into 4th at 180, but backed off at 200 doing about 6k.

only been up to 176km/h in the sw20, changing into 4th about 30 metres before the end of the 1/4.

Back in my younger days, my 4agze aw11 saw the limiter in 5th a few times, read somewhere they were geared for 132mph? or 129mph with the headlights up

was scary with how stable it felt at that speed too :?

yeah work bB!

its quite possible that ae111s or some of them, were limited to a lower speed than ae101s. mid 90s 180kmh speed cut became very common for JDM cars.

hence why my aw11 is faster than a GTR skyline :D

well, im only guessing, but my speedo only goes to 180, and if i wind the crap out of it in 6th, after it goes past 180, it keeps pulling for about another 20 seconds before the cutout hits... so will be over 200 id imagine.. want to arrange a new speedo, no idea where to get one tho.

edit: this is in a blacktop ae111 levin.

Really, you must have been in some crap 1600's.

Guy ran an AE86 down here years ago in the car club flying 1/4,
from memory it was about 132 mph or something on standard ecu.

haha yeah that is fair hauling for a 1.6.
im just talking in comparison to what im used to, where itll pull nearly as hard as it does from 50-100 up to around 200ish . never really gone higher but i suspect itd run out of puff/hit the wall somewhere above that.

sure a small displacement n/a will keep accelerating above that speed, but the rate it does it at is significantly slower. depending on the aerodynamics or course too.

Yeah I think I understand what you mean, though to me virtually NA 1600cc I've been in lose their "zest" above 100kph, they are still accelerating but its pretty lacklustre. I guess anything under .35g or so is where I consider something to have started dropping nuts substantially - no real shunt in the back.

Your car can't be anywhere near pulling as hard as it does between 50-100 as at 200? I've only been in one car thats pulling at 200kph anywhere near what it was doing between 50-100 had over 600whp! 8O

sure it does Lith, it wheel spins right through 2nd gear for about 20 seconds to get from 50-100km

haha maybe not quite that bad , but when its working properly(not often) the speedo goes up fast enough to suprise even me.
since my nice diff wore out i had been able to provoke wheelspin dropping into 3rd @100km on some surfaces :?

flying 1/4? How much run-up do you get?
Most of the 1600n/a i've driven are also struggling by the time they get near 160kph.

My AE86 4agze did 198kph off memory at the end of puke (late braking). Thats off the accurate terratrip too.
