Oops forgot about this thread

Im not sure why everyone's saying 'drag racing'. Mass is mass, be that mass you are trying to accelerate. Or mass you are attempting to transition through a corner. Just incase it needs spelling out, transitioning 1200kg's through a corner is far easier than 1400kg+. Mechanical performance is a measure of the work required to perform an action.
3rd form physic's tells us the lower the mass the less work required to perform said action.

Whoever's claiming the 1367kg 205 is either talking about a stripped model (constructed of GRP/CRP) or the scales were off. Toyota claims 1420+ DRY… and that no doubt has the typical Toyota marketing dept spin.

Being the sad sack of shit that I am, my purchase of a WRC model is purely for train spotting reasons. Owning one of the most infamous Group A rally car's of all time was the only attraction. TBH im abit past the modding a car phase (been there done that, god im old) If I wanted to go fast and turn corners, a 185/205 GT-Four would be the absolute last choice.
Once again im not bagging GT-Fours, just attempting to put things in perspective. And for the record this is just my humble opinion. And you know that old saying about opinions and assholes … everybody has one :)

It was I who "claimed" 1367kgs. Weighed on high end professional corner weighing scales. My Bunderson weighed in at a dissapointingly high 780kgs, on those same scales. I have no reason to doubt their accuracy.

your opinion is noted , and dismissed ..

1380 Kg was the reputed weight for the group A/WRC model thats what the spec books say ..

Im pretty sure Redmists figure would be accurate - and probably less again if the WTA was removed , a smaller battery was put in place of the lump of lead up front , and a few of the options boxes were left unticked

mine has no sunroof , no leather , no undertrays ( frown ) no bonnet lining , no parcel shelf , no climate control and alot of the cast exhaust system removed .. Very basic for a group A ...

Black 1997 JDM GT4 with the recaro interior, I hadn't even noticed the KYBs thanks for the headsup.

Out of interest, what does the Recaro interior consist of ? Recaro SRs in the front ? Do they sit lower than the factory seats ?

Front seats, Rear seats and door cards all trimed in Recaro ie , Black and the spotted inserts on the front and back seats, door cards in black.

The real impt part of the interior is the seat sliders/rails which are seamless compared to getting a bride rail and all the buggering around that goes with setting them up. ie Factory

anybody else ?
