Im not sure why everyone's saying 'drag racing'. Mass is mass, be that mass you are trying to accelerate. Or mass you are attempting to transition through a corner. Just incase it needs spelling out, transitioning 1200kg's through a corner is far easier than 1400kg+. Mechanical performance is a measure of the work required to perform an action.
3rd form physic's tells us the lower the mass the less work required to perform said action.
Whoever's claiming the 1367kg 205 is either talking about a stripped model (constructed of GRP/CRP) or the scales were off. Toyota claims 1420+ DRY… and that no doubt has the typical Toyota marketing dept spin.
Being the sad sack of shit that I am, my purchase of a WRC model is purely for train spotting reasons. Owning one of the most infamous Group A rally car's of all time was the only attraction. TBH im abit past the modding a car phase (been there done that, god im old) If I wanted to go fast and turn corners, a 185/205 GT-Four would be the absolute last choice.
Once again im not bagging GT-Fours, just attempting to put things in perspective. And for the record this is just my humble opinion. And you know that old saying about opinions and assholes … everybody has one
